Tickled Pink Fundraiser is May 1

On May 1st we will be hosting our next fundraising event at Tickled Pink in downtown Seymour!

Tickled Pink is one of our favorite local boutiques. If you haven’t been there, you’ve been missing out. They carry a great selection of Alex and Ani jewelry, as well as homemade soaps and candles from local companies, and a ton of other jewelry and anything girly you can think of! It’s the perfect place to find a present just in time for Mother’s Day – or to treat yourself! 20% of the proceeds from the event will go towards the foundation.

Seymour, CT 06483

When:

5 pm – 9 pm

We are looking forward to seeing you at Tickled Pink on Thursday, May 1st from 5 pm – 9 pm!

What We’ve Been Up To

Posted by on Mar 9, 2014 in News & Events | 0 comments

It’s been a while since we’ve posted, but that doesn’t mean we haven’t been active with Sean’s Foundation! Here are some things we’ve been up to:

Nina Strong – On December 5th the Sean Bertanza Foundation attended the fundraiser at Molto Bene in Seymour to make a donation in the amount of $500 to help support Nina Poeta and her family in her fight against brain cancer. Nina is an incredible 16 year old cheerleader attending Seymour High School. To learn more about Nina and to make a donation to help in her recovery, click here or visit https://www.facebook.com/PoetaStrong. They’ve held numerous fundraisers and it’s touching to see how the community has pulled together to help support the Poeta family.

Spooner House – On February 22nd the Sean Bertanza Foundation made a donation in the amount of $250 to the Spooner House, and also volunteered by stocking shelves with all the grocery items that were donated for the 12th Valley Has a Heart. The shelves were filled to the brim and it was nice to see how many people pulled together to help support the local community. The Spooner House in Shelton, CT provides food, shelter and support for people in need. It is a great cause and we were happy to be able to help. We are looking forward to doing more with the Spooner House in the future. To learn more about the Spooner House and make a donation, you can visit their website at http://www.actspooner.org.

Seymour High School Wildcat Basketball Scholarship – On March 23rd the Sean Bertanza Foundation will be handing out the next Seymour Wildcat Basketball Scholarship! This scholarship is given out in memory of Sean and is very near and dear to our hearts. We are looking forward to supporting the next basketball player attain his dream of basketball and college. We can’t wait to let you know who the lucky basketball player is. We’ll keep you posted.

We’re in the process of planning some more events. Check back often to see what we’ve been up to.

Lasell College Men’s Basketball Team Supports the Sean Bertanza Foundation!

Posted by on Dec 8, 2013 in News & Events | 2 comments

Lasell College surprised the Bertanza family at the December 7th Lasell College men’s basketball game vs Emmanuel College by donating all ticket sales to the Sean Bertanza Foundation!

Sean’s family made the trip up to Lasell College to check out Sean’s jersey that has been retired and displayed in his memory, hand out Sean Bertanza Foundation t-shirts to the men and women’s basketball teams that they had made up, and to attend the men’s basketball game. As always, Lasell had a surprise waiting! The game brochures had a special mention of Sean on the cover, the ticket sales were being donated to the foundation, and the entire team had the #11 sewn onto their jerseys over their hearts! The support from Lasell College, the coaches, the teams, the students and parents has been amazing and it is no wonder Sean loved it there so much. It was great to see everyone and see the team play so well and get the win. We look forward to attending more games and cheering the team on.

We would also like to give a special shout out to Kirsten Mammola who has raised close to $300 for the foundation by selling the Sean Bertanza Foundation bracelets at the men and women basketball games!

We can’t thank you enough!
